{"id":18553,"date":"2020-05-04T09:43:45","date_gmt":"2020-05-04T04:13:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/poojabell.com\/?p=18553"},"modified":"2020-05-04T09:43:45","modified_gmt":"2020-05-04T04:13:45","slug":"gandharvas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.madrodigital.com\/poojabellnew\/2020\/05\/04\/gandharvas\/","title":{"rendered":"GANDHARVAS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>INTRODUCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gandharvas<\/strong>&nbsp;are the celestial\nmusicians and they are mentioned in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hinduism\">Hinduism<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Buddhism\">Buddhism<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jainism\">Jainism<\/a> texts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gandharvas are male demi gods and the consorts of the celestial dancers also called as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Apsaras\">Apsaras<\/a>. They contain feathers and contain an attractive face and a handsome look, and they possess good musical skills. Mostly Gandharvas used to sing in the court of the great god Sri Indradev at Swarkalok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gandharvas also acted as a mediator between the gods and humans.  According to ancient texts, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gandharva_marriage\">gandharva marriage<\/a>s\u00a0would be mostly conducted by the kings during their visit to a different place, and it would be performed without any rituals and mainly with the consent of the groom and the bride, and they would exchange their rings, as a symbol of marriage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gandharvas are mentioned in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mahabharata\">Mahabharata<\/a>&nbsp;and in ancient texts.Gandharvas are\ngenerally considered as the low level demi gods when compared with the Divine&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Deva_(Buddhism)\">Devas<\/a>&nbsp;in&nbsp;the heaven. There is a separate\nLoka for them known as GandharvaLoka, and they used to reside in that Loka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chitrasena was a Gandharva who was mentioned in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mahabharata\">Mahabharata<\/a>. He was the music and dance teacher of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Arjuna\">Arjuna<\/a>.
