{"id":8722,"date":"2019-12-24T14:46:42","date_gmt":"2019-12-24T09:16:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/poojabell.com\/?p=8722"},"modified":"2019-12-24T14:46:42","modified_gmt":"2019-12-24T09:16:42","slug":"nandanar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.madrodigital.com\/poojabellnew\/2019\/12\/24\/nandanar\/","title":{"rendered":"Nandanar"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>INTRODUCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nandanar<\/strong>\u00a0(7<sup>th <\/sup>Century AD) was a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nayanars\">Nayanar<\/a>\u00a0saint, and a follower of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shaivism\">Shaivism<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LIFE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nandanar belonged to Adanur in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Thanjavur_district\">Thanjavur district<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tamil_Nadu\">Tamil Nadu<\/a>. He was born in the Dalit community and during that time they were considered as untouchables among the people. Dalits lived their life by working as labourers in the agricultural fields <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once, in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sivalokanathar_Temple,_Tirupunkur\">Sivalokanathar Temple, Tirupunkur<\/a> due to his prayers a giant stone bull had moved to some distance and still appears in the moved position in the temple. Nandanar ritually purified himself in the fire at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Thillai_Nataraja_Temple,_Chidambaram\">Thillai Nataraja Temple, Chidambaram<\/a> and become a bright looking person and appeared as a holy Brahmin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sundarar\">Sundarar<\/a>\u00a0also praises Nandanar in his sacred text <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nambiyandar_Nambi\">Nambiyandar Nambi<\/a>\u00a0also mentioned the greatness of Nandanar in his\u00a0divine text \u201cTiruttondarTiruvandhadhi\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He lived his life by making leather items and also a maker of musical instruments. Nandanar also undertook the task of cleaning the temple tanks , painting the walls of the temple and done various repair works in the shiva temple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nandanar\nis specially worshipped in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tamil_month\">Tamil month<\/a>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Purattasi\">Purattasi<\/a>and also worshipped as a nayanar in the Shiva temples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A\nsculpture of Nandanar is found in the Chidambaram temple, and also in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Airavatesvara_Temple\">Airavatesvara\nTemple<\/a>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Darasuram\">Darasuram<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let us worship the great nayanar saint and be blessed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cOM SREE NANDANAR NAYANARE NAMAHA\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cOM NAMAH SHIVAYA\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cOM SAKTHI PARASAKTHI\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WRITTEN R.
